The Koninklijk Nederlands Aardrijkskundig Genootschap (KNAG) was founded in 1873. The KNAG is the professional association for geographers in the Netherlands. The KNAG maintains contacts with politics, relevant authorities, and media to advocate for the importance of geography. Additionally, the KNAG often represents Dutch geographers internationally.

The KNAG is known for the numerous expeditions that took place in the 19th and 20th century. Today, the KNAG is the association of nearly 3,000 professionals and enthusiasts of geography.
