KNAG
The Royal Dutch Geographical Society (KNAG) was founded in 1873. The KNAG is the professional association of and for geographers in the Netherlands. The KNAG maintains contacts with politicians, governments and media to raise awareness of the importance of geography. KNAG also often represents Dutch geographers internationally.
KNAG is known for the many expeditions that took place in the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, KNAG is the association with over 2,600 geography professionals and enthusiasts. Besides advocacy, KNAG aims to promote scientific knowledge of the world and the earth and publish it in an accessible way. The KNAG also aims to bring together geographers from education, science, administration, policy and business and act as a meeting platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge.
Bureau BUITEN
Bureau BUITEN is a spatial-economic consultancy organisation based in Utrecht. With a young and enthusiastic team, we help governments throughout the Netherlands (and Belgium) to make our country a bit more beautiful, stronger, and sustainable. Our team consists of 30 enthusiastic colleagues with various specialist backgrounds. We work for different clients, often municipalities or provinces, on various issues in the field of economy and environment. This includes economy and work locations, mobility, tourism and recreation, heritage, energy and sustainable environment, and European projects and programs. Our strength lies in consistently bringing together these areas of expertise for the best approach to each issue. We are an open and flat organization with an informal atmosphere. You get room to grow, both professionally and personally. You can be yourself, and there is plenty of space for your own initiative and fresh ideas. We regularly organize social gatherings, sporting events, and the annual Bureau BUITEN-day.

BEECKK Ruimtemakers
BEECKK Ruimtemakers is a consultancy with a focus on spatial development with bases in Utrecht, Arnhem, Rotterdam & Eindhoven. We assist local governments in making informed decisions on complex spatial issues, always placing people at the center of our approach. Our team of around 30 project managers specializes in various aspects of spatial development, including housing developments, mobility solutions and the energy transition. We are committed to creating spaces that are functional, sustainable, and enjoyable for all.
The energy transition is transforming public spaces in the Netherlands. From solar carports and charging stations to neighborhood batteries and small wind turbines, sustainable energy solutions are becoming more visible in our daily environment. But how do these affect benefit residents and local governments? In this workshop, we will explore scenarios and discuss the benefits and challenges of integrating renewable energy into public spaces. Through group discussions and a short debate, you will analyze how these developments impact urban planning, infrastructure, and community life.
